Matthew Johnson is a poet, editor, and publisher; he is also the author of the poetry collections, Shadow Folk and Soul Songs (Kelsay Books), and Far From New York State (New York Quarterly Press).
Among selected journals, Matthew's poetry has appeared or is forthcoming in Jerry Jazz Musician, The London Magazine, The Roanoke Review, The Sport Literate, Maudlin House, The Westchester Review, The Maryland Literary Review, New York Quarterly, The Northern New England Review, Up the Staircase Quarterly, and The Front Porch Review.
Matthew, who is a four-time Best of the Net nominee and a one-time Pushcart Prize nominee, has served as a Writing Resident for Sundress Publications. He is also the managing editor of the independent, literary magazine, The Portrait of New England, and the poetry editor of the baseball-themed journal, The Twin Bill. He is a member of the writing networks: The North Carolina Writers Network, the Hudson Valley Writers Guild, the Connecticut Poetry Society, and the New England Poetry Club.
He is also the official poet of the Tony Kornheiser Show.
